New 10 minutes organ work on the way

I'm now working on a 10 minutes long organ piece, divided into four smaller parts. This commissioned piece is a part of big Icelandic organ project, started by Lára Bryndís Eggertsdóttir, organist, who lives in Horsens, Denmark.

I have finished 3 parts so far, and have one to go. I will write an article about the piece and what methods I used in the blog part of this page, when the whole piece is finished.

The deadline for finishing the piece is 1st of January, so I know what I'm doing this Christmas :)

New piece for Contralto, piano and tape on the way!

Today I finished the score on a piece for a Contralto, piano and tape, which will be premiered on master examination concert in the Norwegian Academy of Music in may this year! Now I have only the tape part left.

It is a very interesting story, based on a poem by the Icelandic poet Steinunn P. Hafstað. The poem is called Mamma (e. Mother), and is about the death of the poet's mother. It is dramatic, realistic and wonderful story, all put into few words by Steinunn.

The piece will be performed by Magrét Brynjars (contralto) and Ivar Anton Waagaard (piano).

A new commission !

I got the very happy news this week that I got a new commission from the fantastic Swedish duo "En Vokalist & En Cellist". Last year I did the project "For-get-me-not" with this amazing duo and they performed my music in Helsinki, Piteå and some concerts in their home region of Dalsland. This year they are planing a Europe trip, starting with a concert in Paris, and are going to visit my home country, Iceland, in april! They are going to play some of my music on this trip, along with the new composition "Composition:Kokbok", and who knows, maybe something more...
